Inventory<\/strong> can found under the Inventory <\/strong>link in the Powercode menu bar. Inventory <\/strong>has three tabs: Items, Consumables, <\/strong>and Products <\/strong>that are used to manage individual and bulk Items<\/strong><\/a> and Inventory Products<\/strong> respectively.<\/p>\n

Manage Inventory<\/h3>\n

Clicking on the Manage Inventory <\/strong>button near the top of the Inventory <\/strong>page\"\"<\/p>\n

From here you can view and delete Inventory Item, Consumable, <\/strong>and Product<\/strong> attribute options.\u00a0 There is a checkbox to the left of unused items that allows for mass deletion.<\/p>\n

Items like Customers<\/strong> and Web Users <\/strong> (also referred to as Staff) <\/strong>are managed elsewhere.<\/p>\n

View RMAs
\n<\/b><\/h3>\n

Clicking on the View RMAs<\/strong> button near the top of the Inventory<\/strong> Page brings up a dialog box containing all RMAs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Once an RMA<\/strong> is created, it can be viewed using the View RMAs<\/strong> button. The system automatically generates an RMA Code<\/strong> for the Item<\/strong>. You can update the Status<\/strong> on the RMA<\/strong> to keep track of its progress, as well as delete it when the process is complete.<\/p>\n

Mass Move Inventory<\/b><\/h3>\n

Clicking the Mass Move Inventory\u00a0<\/strong>button near the top of the page brings up an interface allowing movements of one or more Inventory Item<\/strong> between two locations in your system.<\/p>\n

Choosing a location type and location in either pane will display all inventory at that site, whether that is a Customer<\/strong> account, Network Location<\/strong>, Staff<\/strong> member, or Stock Location<\/strong>. You can highlight Inventory Items<\/strong> from that list and use the single arrow buttons to move the highlighted Items<\/strong> between locations. If you want to move ALL Inventory Items<\/strong> from a location, use the double arrows.<\/p>\n

Admin Settings<\/h3>\n

Currently the only setting available on this dialog box is the ability to change the Min Stock Level<\/strong> email address for alerts. The Min Stock Level<\/strong> notification is sent automatically when Inventory Products <\/strong>reach the set minimum stock level.\\<\/p>\n

Columns<\/h3>\n

This button allows you to select which column items you wish to display on Inventory<\/strong> pages.<\/p>\n

Items Tab<\/h2>\n

Add Items<\/strong><\/h3>\n \t\t
\r\n \t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t

\r\n \t\t\t\t\tProducts<\/strong> standardize and enrich Inventory<\/strong> Item<\/strong> entries. They are recommended but not technically required when creating Inventory Items.<\/strong> To first learn how to enter a Product <\/strong>into Powercode, click on the Products<\/strong> link to the right. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n \t\t\t \t\t\t\r\n \t\t<\/div>\r\n \t\t\n

To add an Inventory Item<\/strong> under the Items<\/strong> tab click the green Add Items Button.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Clicking the red lock labeled Bulk Entry Mode<\/strong> will change the icon to green and enter Bulk Entry mode.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bulk Entry Mode <\/strong>prevents the dialog box from closing after an Item<\/strong> is entered. The additional locks that appear next to fields in\u00a0Bulk Entry Mode<\/strong> will save those fields for multiple entries.<\/p>\n \t\t

\r\n \t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

We recommend searching for Inventory Items<\/strong> and bulk entering Inventory Items<\/strong> with unique MAC<\/strong> addresses using an inexpensive generic scanner. These can be used to automatically populate MAC<\/strong> address fields by scanning product bar codes whether you are searching or bulk adding inventory. For more information see entering bulk inventory with a scanner.<\/a><\/p>\n

\t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n \t\t\t \t\t\t\r\n \t\t<\/div>\r\n \t\t\n

Product: <\/strong>The Inventory Item<\/strong> Product<\/strong>.\u00a0 This is not necessary but it allows Powercode to store relevant Product<\/strong> data and monitor and query your Inventory Items<\/strong> by their Product<\/strong>.
\nName: <\/strong>If you intend to standardize names with Equipment<\/strong> they must be unique, otherwise this does not matter.
\nAssignee Type: <\/strong>Sets the item location to Customer<\/strong>, Network<\/strong>, Staff<\/strong> or Stock<\/strong>. Make sure to choose Assignee Type<\/strong> before the following field as the following field will change based on Assignee Type<\/strong>.
\nCustomer\/Network Site\/Web User\/Stock Location:\u00a0<\/strong>The precise assignment of the Inventory<\/strong> Item<\/strong>.
\nStatus, Condition:<\/strong> Current state of Item<\/strong>. Custom entries can be added with the +<\/strong> icon.
\nEquipment: <\/strong>This field is used to associate Items<\/strong> in Inventory<\/strong> with Items<\/strong> in Equipment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \t\t

\r\n \t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t

\r\n \t\t\t\t\tEquipment<\/strong> on a Customer<\/strong> or Network Site <\/strong>can be linked to\u00a0Inventory<\/strong> with this field. Start entering the Equipment Name<\/strong> and powercode will search results in the database. If there are no available Equipment Items<\/strong> this field can be left as None<\/strong> or left blank.<\/p>\n

Assigning Inventory<\/strong> to a Customer<\/strong> or\u00a0Network Site<\/strong> will not automatically create a corresponding Equipment Item<\/strong> for that location. It is possible to create an Equipment Item<\/strong> at a Customer<\/strong> or\u00a0Network Site<\/strong> and assign an available Item<\/strong> from Inventory<\/strong> instead of entering an\u00a0Equipment<\/strong> MAC <\/strong>address manually. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n \t\t\t \t\t\t\r\n \t\t<\/div>\r\n \t\t\n

MAC: Item<\/strong> MAC<\/strong> address. Must be unique so it can be associated with Equipment.<\/strong><\/p>\n \t\t

\r\n \t\t\t\t\tAdding multiple Items<\/strong> with identical MAC<\/strong> addresses cause severe problems when linking Inventory<\/strong> items to Equipment<\/strong> and is not recommended. An Item<\/strong> in Equipment<\/strong> can be linked to Inventory<\/strong> by its MAC<\/strong> address, but this will not work correctly if there are multiple Inventory Items<\/strong> with the same MAC<\/strong> address. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n \t\t\t \t\t\t\r\n \t\t<\/div>\r\n \t\t\n

DUID, Serial, Cost, Notes:\u00a0<\/strong>These fields offer additional information input for the Inventory Item.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Edit Item
\n<\/b><\/h3>\n

On the Items<\/strong> tab of the Inventory<\/strong> page, select the pencil shaped\u00a0Edit<\/strong> button to the right of the Item<\/strong> to make changes to a single Item<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Date Created <\/strong>and the name at the top of the box are unique to existing Items<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Inventory History Logs<\/b><\/h3>\n

When an Inventory Item <\/strong>is edited in any way, the system will add a log to that Item<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This is viewable by clicking the circular blue Item History Button<\/strong> on the right side of the Inventory<\/strong> page Items<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n

Mass Edit\/Delete<\/h3>\n

You can also edit or delete multiple Items<\/strong> at once using the check boxes on the left side of each entry and then clicking the Edit Items<\/strong> or Delete Items<\/strong> buttons that appear next to the green Add Items<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

Create RMA<\/h3>\n

When Inventory Items<\/strong> are assigned to a customer, a red RMA<\/strong> button will\u00a0 appear as an option on the right side of the entry.\u00a0 This allows the creation of an RMA <\/strong>for the equipment\u00a0 for the return request.<\/p>\n

When clicking on that button, the system will prompt you to enter a Reason<\/strong> for the return merchandise authorization.<\/p>\n

Consumables Tab
\n<\/b><\/h2>\n

In order to add Consumables<\/strong>, such as different types of cable, zip ties, or other supplies, we first need to add a Product<\/strong> for the consumable.<\/p>\n

Clicking Add Consumable <\/strong>will allow you to choose the Product<\/strong> and Quantity<\/strong> of the consumable you would like to add to Inventory.<\/strong><\/p>\n

To the right of each Consumable<\/strong> in Inventory<\/strong> you can use the + <\/strong>and – <\/strong>icons to add or subtract a number of Consumables<\/strong>. The pencil icon allows you to directly edit the number of a consumable in Inventory<\/strong>. The graph icon will display a Consumable History <\/strong>graph to help you track trends in use over time.<\/p>\n

Products Tab
\n<\/b><\/h2>\n

Under the Products<\/strong> tab on the Inventory<\/strong> page you will see a list of all Products<\/strong> currently existing in your instance of Powercode.<\/p>\n

To create a new Product click Create Product<\/strong> under the Products<\/strong> tab. You will be asked to enter the following Product<\/strong> information:<\/p>\n

\"Fields<\/p>\n

Name<\/strong>: Product<\/strong> name
\nConsumable: Consumables<\/strong> are commodity Items<\/strong> sold in bulk rather than individually. They can be found under the Consumable Tab<\/strong>. All other Products<\/strong> are found individually under the Product Tab<\/strong>.
\nUnit: <\/strong>(Consumable only)<\/em> This is the number of individual Products<\/strong> that constitute one unit. For example 12 screws, or two tie-downs.
\nModel,<\/strong> UPC: <\/strong>Identifying information for each Product<\/strong>.
\n<\/strong> Manufacturer, Vendor<\/strong>: Identifying information for each Product<\/strong>. Additional options can be added with the + <\/strong>icon.
\nType: <\/strong>The larger category this Product<\/strong> belongs to (ie. access points, routers).
\nPrice: Unit<\/strong> cost.
\nMin Stock Level: <\/strong>This Product<\/strong> on the Products<\/strong> tab will be highlighted with yellow within 20% of the minimum stock value. A warning email will be sent upon reaching the Min Stock Level<\/strong>.\u00a0 By clicking the Admin Settings<\/strong> button on this page you can set the email address that stock level notifications are sent to.<\/p>\n

The Inventory <\/strong>Products<\/strong> Tab<\/strong> is shown below. My Prod<\/strong> is below the minimum stock level and My Prod V02<\/strong> is within 20% of the minimum level.<\/p>\n

You may delete or edit Products<\/strong> with the pencil and trash can icons to the right of the Product’s <\/strong>column.<\/p>\n

Product History<\/h3>\n

The graph icon to the far right of the Inventory Product <\/strong>will display the historical distribution of that product. By clicking the hamburger menu at the top right of the graph dialog you can print or export this information to variety of file types.<\/p>\n
