Most hardware vendors and manufacturers ship network devices with the MAC<\/strong> and Serial<\/strong> address on the outside of the crate. A generic scanner, for example most USB barcode Scanners found on Amazon<\/a> can pick up those MAC<\/strong> and Serial<\/strong> codes. The scanner’s software should be able to enter scanned information in any text field you have selected.<\/p>\n \t\t

\r\n \t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t

\r\n \t\t\t\t\tPowercode Support is not authoritative on the software provided by various generic scanner providers.\u00a0 While most handheld scanners should work, your scanner will<\/strong> need to be able to populate a text field. The software provided with the scanner that allows it to work with your computer is out of the scope of Powercode support. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n \t\t\t \t\t\t\r\n \t\t<\/div>\r\n \t\t\n

To begin entering Inventory<\/strong><\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Go to the\u00a0Inventory Page<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Click the green +Add Inventory <\/strong>button<\/li>\n
  • Click on\u00a0the red Bulk Entry Mode<\/strong> option so the lock icon turns green and closes<\/li>\n
  • Enter any Inventory<\/strong> information shared by all items in your batch<\/li>\n
  • Lock entered fields by selecting the lock icon next to the field so the lock icon closes<\/li>\n
  • Click in the MAC<\/strong> text field so you can begin scanning items<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Scan the MAC<\/strong> address<\/li>\n
    • If you are entering Serial<\/strong> numbers:\n
        \n
      • Press enter<\/strong> to move to the next field<\/li>\n
      • Scan the Serial<\/strong> number<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • Press enter<\/strong> or click Add Item\u00a0<\/strong>to add the item<\/li>\n
      • The system will place your cursor back in the MAC<\/strong> field<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        When you are done with the shipment:<\/strong> click Close<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \t\t
