{"id":763,"date":"2017-11-03T22:00:59","date_gmt":"2017-11-03T22:00:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kb.powercode.com\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=763"},"modified":"2021-06-16T20:43:33","modified_gmt":"2021-06-16T20:43:33","slug":"multibranding","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/kb.powercode.com\/?ht_kb=multibranding","title":{"rendered":"Multibranding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Multibranding<\/strong>\u00a0allows creation of additional\u00a0<strong>Brands<\/strong>\u00a0within Powercode to differentiate subsets of\u00a0<strong>Customers<\/strong>.\u00a0<strong>Multibranding<\/strong>\u00a0can be used to allow a team teams to do things like allow third parties to make use of specially branded portions of Powercode software, see service catalog qualifications at a glance, and visually distinguish purchased companies.<\/p>\n<h5 id=\"multibranding-offers\">Multibranding Offers:<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>An additional\u00a0<strong>Customer Portal URL<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Differentiated\u00a0<strong>Customer Portal, Contract<\/strong>\u00a0and<strong>\u00a0Employee Portal Logos<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Differentiated Automated Emails (customizable by\u00a0<strong>Company<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 id=\"multibranding-does-not-offer\">Multibranding does not offer:<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Use of additional\u00a0<strong>Payment Gateways<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>terminalIDs<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>MerchantIDs<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Additional or automatically differentiated built in reporting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"supplementing-basic-multibranding-functionality\">Supplementing Basic Multibranding Functionality<\/h3>\n<h5 id=\"customer-groups-and-customer-tags\">Customer Groups and Customer Tags<\/h5>\n<p>By creating\u00a0<strong>Customer Groups<\/strong>\u00a0congruent with your\u00a0<strong>Brands<\/strong>\u00a0(ie, brand 1 residential, brand 2 residential and brand 3 commercial) you can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Offer separate\u00a0<strong>Services<\/strong>\u00a0to each brand and group<\/li>\n<li>Restrict team members to\u00a0<strong>Customer Accounts<\/strong>\u00a0of certain\u00a0<strong>Brands<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Differentiate for all other\u00a0<strong>Customer Group<\/strong>\u00a0and<strong>\u00a0Customer Tag<\/strong>\u00a0related functionality\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/powercode.com\/setup-customergroups\/\">documented here.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 id=\"permission-groups\">Permission Groups<\/h5>\n<p>Specialized\u00a0<strong>Permissions Groups<\/strong>\u00a0can allow users access only to the portions of Powercode you intend for them to use. For more on\u00a0<strong>Permission Groups<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/powercode.com\/setup-permissions\/\">click here.<\/a><\/p>\n<h5 id=\"subaccount-classes\">SubAccount Classes<\/h5>\n<p>Each <strong>Service<\/strong> in your system can be set to a desired<strong>\u00a0SubAccount Class. SubAccount Classes<\/strong>\u00a0allow built in Powercode reporting differentiate your accounting by\u00a0<strong>Brand<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Account Classes<\/strong> designate the gross credit or debit designation: check and credit card payments, monthly internet service, etc. <strong>Subaccount Classes<\/strong> can be used to differentiate items within these gross designations. For\u00a0<strong>Multibranding<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Subaccount Classes<\/strong>\u00a0can differentiate ledger entries for an\u00a0<strong>Account Classes<\/strong>\u00a0like\u00a0<strong>Monthly Internet\u00a0<\/strong>between things like: Residential Brand 1, Residential Brand 2 and Commercial Brand 2.<\/p>\n<h5 id=\"custom-reporting\">Custom Reporting<\/h5>\n<p><strong>Custom Reports<\/strong> can be built to pull information your team needs by brand. Avoid Alpha transparency in images.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Customer Portal Logo: Customer portal<\/strong> logo<\/li>\n<li><strong>Company Name:<\/strong> name of this <strong>Company<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Company Address\/Contact Info:\u00a0<\/strong>Default values Powercode will use for variables throughout the system for this company.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Company Hostname:\u00a0<\/strong>The intended\u00a0<strong>Customer Portal <\/strong>URL\u00a0for this <strong>Company.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0When that <strong>Hostname<\/strong> is registered and pointed at the billing server the branding for this\u00a0<strong>Company<\/strong> will be present on the login screen at that URL.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n    \t\t<div class=\"hts-messages hts-messages--alert   hts-messages--withicon \"   >\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\t<p>\r\n    \t\t\t\t\tContracts use the FPDF file format, which doesn\u2019t support alpha transparency. If a Contract logo or Admin Portal Banner requires transparency: consult your designer for options or save the Admin Portal Banner as a PNG with index transparency. If you are looking for a tool to do this most image resizing tools online will automatically save PNG images with index transparency, otherwise the free GNU image Editor (GIMP) is quite useful for this task.    \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\r\n    \t\t<\/div><!-- \/.ht-shortcodes-messages -->\r\n    \t\t\n    \t\t<div class=\"hts-messages hts-messages--info   hts-messages--withicon \"   >\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\t<p>\r\n    \t\t\t\t\tCustomers will see the branding of the site they log in through even if they are associated with the other brand. Consider selectively disallowing access to that domain if you are concerned it may cause confusion.    \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\r\n    \t\t<\/div><!-- \/.ht-shortcodes-messages -->\r\n    \t\t\n    \t\t<div class=\"hts-messages hts-messages--alert   hts-messages--withicon \"   >\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\t<p>\r\n    \t\t\t\t\tSystem emails will have to be created manually for all but the first brand. There are enough <strong>Multibranding<\/strong> use cases that system emails are not automatically generated.    \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\r\n    \t\t<\/div><!-- \/.ht-shortcodes-messages -->\r\n    \t\t\n<p>Once <strong>Multibranding<\/strong> is activated you will see customer <strong>Company<\/strong> on the<strong> Customer Overview<\/strong> as well as the appropriate <strong>Company<\/strong> image at the top of the page.
